Computer aided design (CAD) is done with AutoCAD, with drawings provided on diskette in
.DWG or .DXF format for each job when finished. All dies are designed and detailed
completely with replacement perishables in mind. Any block considered a perishable
has wirecut dowel holes which allows the customer to keep replacements in house for
preventive maintenance or crash recovery. Existing tooling can also be charted out
and documented so that replacement perishables are able to be produced.
Computer aided machining (CAM) programming is done with MasterCAM. All code
created for the job is archived with the drawings so blocks can easily be replaced if ever
required.
In addition the engineering department is responsible for implementing a
local area network to utilize job tracking databases which allow us to quickly assign new
jobs, schedule a job for completion and to check current status of your job. This
along with the ability to access drawings archives assures we are able to meet customer
requests in a timely manner.
